Carter LOVES Hannah! It is the Sweetest Thing to see him react to her! What a bond they already have. When she comes into the room, he breaks his neck to see her. Here is a video of her entertaining him like only she can!

Happy 60th Anniversary Mawmaw & Pawpaw

MawMaw Verna and PawPaw John Englert have been happily married for 60 years. Their marriage is an excellent example of true lasting love. They are so sweet and I can only hope that Jason and I will be as blessed as they to have such a long an happy marriage. They actually remind me of the couple in "The Notebook". I've never known a man more attentive, loving, generous and funny as PawPaw. MawMaw is truely his queen! We are blessed to have this example in our lives!

Orange Beach 2009

We went to the beach last week with the whole family (minus Mike). The first half of the trip Kathy, Dwayne, Ryan & Madison were there. The second half we were joined by Sandy, David, John & Allysa. Jason, Hannah, Carter and I were there the whole with with the grandparents. It was a great trip! The Phoenix West is beautiful and we LOVED the lazy river. The kids enjoyed the water slide too. Hannah was most content "cooking" on the beach. She loved to make pizza, cookies, rice & gravy, etc out of sand. Forget castles, she was all about cooking. Carter did really well too. He'd take his morning naps in his swing under the umbrella. Being in the shade didn't help me to acquire much of a tan, but that's okay. I'm not the sun worshiper I once was...

Look Who's Four Months!!

Carter turned 4 months on Saturday. We saw the pediatrician on Monday and he now weighs 14 lbs 3 oz. He has almost doubled his birth weight (shy 3 oz). He is in the 50th percentile for weight...what do you mean a kid that is on the growth chart. He is 25.25 inches long and is in the 75th percentile for his height. What would you expect with his tall parents and all...

Carter is becoming more and more interactive each day. May's big milestones were laughing, cooing, rolling from front to back and now he's blowing raspberries. He is just too sweet and too cute and too fun. Who knew it could be this easy????

We are leaving for the beach in about 10 days and can't hardly wait. It will be quite an experience with the two of them this year. We'll have to watch Hannah closely as she has suddenly developed a sense of adventure and is becoming fearless. Anything for attention, I guess.

Hannah's Lemonlade Stand

Hannah had a "lemonlade" stand on Friday. It was precious. Jason set up the big beach umbrella to draw attention. Anyone who knows Jason, knows that he is good at attracting attention! :-)

When someone would approach, she would politely ask them if they wanted ice. She then would hold the cup with her green gloved hands (not sure of the reason for this, she just wanted to wear the gloves) so Jason could pour the ice and lemonade. She was so excited and so proud. She had 7 customers and made $3.25. The lemonade was free, so I guess that means the lemonlade was good or she's just too darn cute not to give her money. (I'm betting on the second reason). Maybe there is a career in this! She's anxious to do it again. She used her earnings to buy at snowball at the Back to the Beach Bash at Lake Ponchartrain. Although, sadly she only drank about 10 cents worth. We'll have to work on spending her money more wisely!
