October Days with Carter
October Days with Hannah
Great Grandparents
Hannah and Carter are very lucky to have 3 great grandparents that love them dearly (as well as 3 grandparents that spoil them rotten). Here are some recent pictures with the great grandparents.

LPCF Picnic
The LPCF hosted its 3rd Annual Picnic earlier this month. I must admit, it was nice not having to be responsible for the entire event. The weather held out, barely, so it ended up being a nice day.
The kids had lots of inflatables on which to play. The pastalaya made by Jason and Mr. Brent was delicious. The best part of that is that we have gallons left over. (Only half of the rsvp's showed up due to the weather). The kids enjoyed indoor activities as well as face painting by Jackie & Brad.
It is amazing to see these kids and to know all they have been through and yet they are so happy and full of life. I am reminded of how blessed we are to have Hannah and what am awesome God we have. I look forward to it again next year!
Here are some pics.

September Days
Time is flying and I don't like it! It seemed when Hannah was little, time stood still. I can remember anxiously waiting for her to be 4 1/2 months to have her second surgery, because she would be "safer" after having her Glenn. That time went by so slowly....
Well, Hannah is now nearly 4 1/2 years and the past 4 years have gone in the blink of an eye. Carter is already 8 months old and doing so much!
Hannah has begun Pre-K 4 and is doing very well. They are learning to write the letters and numbers. She no longer cries when I drop her off, which is bittersweet. I don't want her to cry, but it make me cry that she no longer feels she "needs" me like she did. She is content going to school and playing with her BFF Annalise. Annalise happens to be in her dance class, which has made bringing her to dancing much better too. Last year I had to sit in the class, every class, every week... What a big girl she is now. If only time could freeze in this moment.
Carter just turned 8 months and is such a big boy. He now weighs 18 pounds, which is huge in comparison to Hannah who only weighed 17 pounds at 1 year. He has been sitting up for the past month and is pretty steady. Every now and then he tilts over and can't catch himself. He will also go from laying down to sitting. He is trying to crawl and is actually beginning to scoot on his tummy and pull with his arms. This just started this week. It's a very slow "Army Crawl", but I know soon he is going to take off. He will get on his knees and hands, but doesn't know how to move his hands to travel. When all else fails, he'll roll onto his back and scoot to where he wants to go.
This morning we noticed a slit in his bottom gum where a tooth will soon appear. We are excited! Hannah didn't get her first tooth until she was 11 months. He is less and less interested in the bottle, so I hope this will help with eating real food. He did eat smashed bananas for the first time this week and he loves Baby Mum Mum's. However, the stage 3 chunky food makes him gag.
Here are some pics from this month. We hope you enjoy.

LSU vs ULL
Our first tailgate with the kids of the 2009 LSU Football Season. It was hot, but still a great day, especially when we heard USC lost! Woo Hoo!

Busy August
It's been a busy month. We bought a lot in Oak Alley Estates (as did Sandy and David...yeah). We've been decluttering the house and have had it for sale for almost 3 weeks. In the three weeks time, we've had 9 showings. That's not bad! It does keep us busy trying to keep the house organized. We've also been looking at house plans, which is proving to be harder than I thought. It's exciting and scary at the same time.
Carter is now 7 months old. He weighs 17 pounds 10 ounces. It is so hard to look at him and not think he is huge. He is actually average in weight and height. He just looks huge compared to Hannah who didn't weigh 17 pounds until her first birthday. He is sitting by himself, but still needs a soft landing behind him. He does well sitting, but when he decides to go backwards, there is no stopping himself. He still has his funny little nerdy laugh that is brought out by his sister! He LOVES her and she LOVES him too! It is the sweetest thing to see them interact. He is also beginning to use the babble Da. It is sweet to hear the little whisper...da, da, dad, da, dad, da....
Hannah has begun pre-k. She likes her new teachers and has adjusted well to the new class and teachers, which surprises us! She can still be a bit clingy, but for the most part is becoming quite social.
Last weekend we went to San Antonio to visit Aunt Sandy (Carter's Nanan) and Uncle Bubba (David). We had a nice visit. We went to the San Antonio Zoo and to the San Antonio Children's Museum. It was great to spend time with them. We can't wait until they are back home one day!
Thanks for checking in on us!
Waiting for a showing. If she can't sell a house, no one can!
